April 6, 2003, this organization took its first major symbolic step to start the construction of its multimillion dollar complex with the erection of a foundation/platform for the installation of its Nishan Sahib (Religious Flag).

Nishan Sahibís Sewa was performed and member from whole community participated with enthusiasm. Religious singer (Kirtania) Bhai Jagjit Singh and his companions recited religious songs (Kirtan). Dr. Rajinder Singh priest from Sikh Center prayed before Shri Guru Granth Sahib to thank and for blessings to do the opening ceremony of Nishan Sahib (Religious Flag of Sikhs). Sikh youth showed their talent in Marshal Art (Gatka) which was very much appreciated by the Sikh Sangat (Sikh Community). Lot of kids participated in sports and other events. During the whole function Tea and Snacks and Cold drinks were served. Harjit Singh Galhotra thanked the whole Congregation for support and participation.

Baisakhi (Foundation day of Sikhs in 1699) was celebrated and the whole community came to the Gurudwara for Guruís blessings. Bhog ceremony of Akhand path was performed followed by Nishan Sahibís sewa. Head priest Bhai Bhupender Singh Paras performed the shabad kirtan from 11:30 to 12:15 followed by the Shabad Kirtan by Hazoori Ragi from Shri Darbar Sahib Amritsar; Bhai Jagjit Singh and his Jatha. At 1 pm fund raising for Sikh National Center took place, several speakers from the whole Sangat spoke for fund raising. Sangat raised around 1.5 million dollars pledges for five years and 89,000 were raised cash which happened first time in Sikh Centerís history. S. Harjit Singh Galhotra General Secretary/Chairman congratulated the sangat for this holy Baisakhi Day. Dr. Kanwaljit Singh fund raising committee chairman thanked to Sangat for this overwhelmingly support for the new Gurudwara.
